SENIOR MEMBER SAREX REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM Required Training:

  • Senior Member Level 1 Orientation Course (IAW CAPR 50-17) which includes:

    • Foundations

    • Intro to CAP Safety

    • Equal Opportunity

    • Operations Security (OPSEC)

In the pop-up menu, select:  Learning Management System
Scroll to the first section (unlabeled), then complete Level I Orientation “Starting Your Journey”


  • Cadet Protection Basic Course (Seniors)

Scroll to the first section (unlabeled), then complete Cadet Protection Basic Course (Seniors)


  • Cadet Protection Advanced Course

Log into eServices at http://capnhq.gov/
In the left-side menu, select:  Online Learning
In the pop-up menu, select:  Learning Management System
Scroll to the first section (unlabeled), then complete Cadet Protection Advanced Course


  • Operational Risk Management (ORM) [a/k/a Basic Risk Management]

Safety is our first priority. This course will teach you the basics of managing inherent risks using a methodical, six-step process.

Log into eServices at http://capnhq.gov/
In the left-side menu, select:  Online Learning
In the pop-up menu, select:  Learning Management System
At the top of the screen, click on "Go To AXIS"

If you have not enrolled in a desired course yet, click on "Course Catalog" on the top-bar menu.
Search for: Basic Risk Management
Select: Enroll
The course will now appear on your "Main Portal" tab on the top-bar menu.

Complete the course.

Complete:  Basic Risk Management Exam


  • Complete: GES 116 [a/k/a CAPT 116]

* HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TRAINING:

  • GES 117, pt 1 [a/k/a CAPT 117, pt 1] (REQUIRED FOR GROUND TEAM)

  • GES 117, pt 2 [a/k/a CAPT 117, pt 2] (REQUIRED FOR FLIGHT LINE MARSHALLER)

  • GES 117, pt 3 [a/k/a CAPT 117, pt 3] (REQUIRED FOR MISSION STAFF ASSISTANT or MISSION RADIO OPERATOR)


  • Complete: FEMA Course: ICS 100

*NOTE:  ALL FEMA completion certificates must be printed and uploaded to eServices.

* HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TRAINING:

  • FEMA Course: ICS 700 (REQUIRED FOR MISSION STAFF ASSISTANT – or – MISSION RADIO OPERATOR – or – FLIGHT LINE MARSHALLER)


  • Complete Intro Communications User Training (ICUT)

1.)  ABUs or other approved CAP Uniform, per Incident Commander

If you have not received your hard-copy ID, you may print one from eServices.

  • Don’t forget to have a front and back copy of your insurance card ready to submit with CAPF 161.

 


CADET SAREX REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM Required Training:

  • Foundational eServices New Cadet Courses

    • Operations Security (OPSEC)

    • Equal Opportunity

Locate the above named courses and complete them.


  • Cadet “Wingman” Course (This is taught in the classroom to new cadets and is one of the requirements to achieve their first rank.)


  • Achieved your first cadet promotion, the Major General John F. Curry Achievement (promotion to the grade of “Airman”)

    • This ensures you have the most basic instruction on military customs and courtesies, drill and commands, and communication skills necessary to work within a Command Structure and an ES environment.


  • Complete: GES 116 [a/k/a CAPT 116]

* HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TRAINING:

  • GES 117, pt 1 [a/k/a CAPT 117, pt 1] (REQUIRED FOR GROUND TEAM)

  • GES 117, pt 2 [a/k/a CAPT 117, pt 2] (REQUIRED FOR FLIGHT LINE MARSHALLER)

  • GES 117, pt 3 [a/k/a CAPT 117, pt 3] (REQUIRED FOR MISSION STAFF ASSISTANT or MISSION RADIO OPERATOR)1

NON-CAP MEMBER / PARENT SAREX REQUIREMENTS

Non-CAP Member or Parent Volunteers are extremely limited in what they are allowed to do at CAP events and SAREXs. You may provide support to an event but, as a non-member, you may not participate.
