While You Wait For Membership Approval

Here you can learn a little about the organization, get information on obtaining your user name and password; populate information in your personal eServices account, and learn about to take your first step as a CAP member: completing the Level I Orientation Course.
Respect on Display (CAPP 151) teaches you about some of CAP's unique Customs and Courtesies it uses to show respect for and among our members, built organizational spirit and render respect to our National symbols and military partners. Complete: General Emergency Services (GES) Foundational Courses
Civil Air Patrol is America’s premier public service organization for carrying out emergency services and disaster relief missions nationwide. As the auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, CAP’s vigilant citizen volunteers are there to search for and find the lost, provide comfort in times of disaster and work to keep the homeland safe. The following courses are required before pursuing other Emergency Services training.
Both Cadets and Seniors should, as soon as practical, complete General Emergency Services Training. This training is the prerequisite for any practical training for real world events.
Obtain Your CAP Driver License:
Drivers are an essential part of all the programs in Civil Air Patrol. CAP drivers are authorized to drive CAP vehicles for official CAP missions as well as squadron and wing business.
Instructions for obtaining a CAP Driver's License can be found at the link below. If you need assistance with this process, contact the Squadron Transportation Officer.

Learn To Use The CAP Operational Resource Management System:
When it is time to use vehicles like the CAP van, or if you are issued any CAP equipment for training or use, this has to be properly documented in Operational Resource Management System (ORMS). The Squadron Logistics Officer will instruct you on the care and reporting requirements for all CAP equipment that may be issued to you, even temporarily.
Now that you have completed Level 1 Training, you are ready to pursue more technical training under Level 2:
-
Review the different Specialty Tracks available.

-
Talk with your mentor or Squadron Commander to explore Level Two professional development opportunities that will assist you in advancing as a CAP member. You should also become familiar with the governing regulation on professional development, CAPR 50-17.
-
Meet with the Squadron Administration and Records Officer to discuss any military experience or training you would like included in your record.
-
Get involved. Actively seek opportunities to contribute to your areas of interest and expertise.
-
Don’t be afraid to try something new. Many Senior Members find that one interest brings them to CAP, only to find and love serving in an area they had never considered before. Jump in. Try it out. The worst thing that can happen is you decide you don’t like it. The best thing that can happen is that you find a new passion.
