Opportunities Abound

Check out all the great programs, education and opportunities available through CAP. CadetInvest is a financial assistance platform for Civil Air Patrol cadets. This program connects cadets, their aspirations and funding partners to maximize cadet experiences and support. The CadetInvest application is used to apply for the following programs: Cadet Wings, Lift/TOP and Scholarships. Contact a local CAP squadron to learn more or email cadetinvest@capnhq.gov

Great Aerospace Education Mentoring Opportunities

CAP pilots will fly teachers at their closest airport for a great flying experience to share with students. This exhilarating program includes a pre-flight briefing explaining the parts and purposes of the airplane -- then,  an actual airplane flight, with the teacher given the opportunity to take the controls in the front seat to connect aviation principles with school curriculum to share with students! Two teachers from Stonebridge Elementary participated in a flight September 2024.

Promoting Lower Alabama While Hosting ALWG Conference

These conferences afford CAP members a broad view of the CAP corporation’s organization and expose them to the issues confronting CAP. The Mobile Composite Squadron hosted the ALWG Conference in Gulf Shores, AL. The Gulf and lower Alabama cuisine delighted local participants as well as from other Wings.

Opportunities to Experience the Wonder of Flight

“Safe, Fun, Educational” CAP gives cadets the opportunity to experience the wonder of flight. Orientation flights with JROTC, ALWG and FLWG.

Cadet Advancement is Achievable

Cadets and Senior Members alike were inspired and proud on the promotion of C/2Lt Jebb Ladd. He is receiving the Billy Mitchell Award from Region 2 commander Maj George Yarchak.

Hands On Training With CAP Basic Model Rocketry

CAP's Model Rocketry program is an achievement program for cadets interested in the science, technology, and flight of model rockets. The structure of the CAP model rocketry program is to have cadets build three model rockets of increasing difficulty.

Looking Sharp While Serving the Community

Members from the Mobile Composite Squadron, were on hand at the Brewton Municipal Airport Fly-In and Car Show on Saturday, April 18th, to introduce the public to Civil Air Patrol. 1st Lt Rob Taylor and Chaplain – Captain Phillip Williams ensured the aircraft was “show worthy” before they flew the Cessna 172 from it’s base of operations early that morning to attend the event. These events at local airports provide an opportunity for Civil Air Patrol to “make the public aware” of who we are as the Auxiliary of the US Air Force, and our three core missions of Cadet Programs, Aerospace Education, and Emergency Services. Several adults and children had the fortune to sit in the aircraft as the crew explained the controls and instruments.
